Looker Business Intelligence 30m FundingLooker, an intuitive SaaS business intelligence tool provider that assists companies dealing in Big Data analytics, recently announced closing a $30 million Series B financing round. The round was spearheaded by Meritech Capital Partners, and saw participation from Sapphire Ventures, as well as existing investors Redpoint Ventures, First Round Capital, and PivotNorth. “The BI market is experiencing a renaissance as data analysts and business users demand more than visualization and discovery from their tools. We expect Looker to lead the charge and become a dominant player,” said Rob Ward, Managing Director at Meritech Capital Partners. Ryft Big Data Analytics 10 Gigabytes SecondRyft, a big bata outfit that has products which offer ‘actionable intelligence from complex data’ has rolled out a new analytics platform that claims to be 200X faster than conventional hardware, in analyzing historical and streaming data simultaneously. Dubbed, Ryft ONE, the new offering promises to provide actionable business insights by simultaneously analyzing up to 48 terabytes of historical and streaming data at an 10 gigabytes/second or faster. SnowFlake Scoops Up $26M to Carve Out Niche in Data Warehousing Tech

Hot Air BaloonSnowflake Computing, a cloud data warehousing startup that’s coming out of stealth mode with intentions to disrupt the data warehousing market, has secured $26 million in Series B funding from prominent venture capital firms Redpoint Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures and Wing Ventures, to do just that. The total investment has now reached about $50 million since their seed and Series A funding. John Walecka, founding partner of Redpoint Ventures will join the SnowFlake board. Zoomdata picks up $17M in Series B to alter Business Intelligence landscapeZoomdata, a Big data Visualisation startup, has landed $17 million recent funding for its proprietary platform capable of analyzing billions of records in seconds, bridging old and new data management platforms. Zoomdata’s mission is to make the processing and visualising of big data an accessible field to all; their technology processes and streams data into visuals, which begin taking shape in seconds.
