Data Natives will set sail at Ahoy! Berlin. This cozy co-working space will be the setting for Day 1 of Data Natives: the workshops track. Ahoy!’s nautical theme likens the new startup economy to the open sea with its strong currents and unpredictable weather (+ it’s very cute)

Variety is the spice of life - The workshops will be categorized as either ‘Tech’, or ‘Business’, and will take place in Ahoy!’s conference rooms. “Casablanca”, the big, white conference room fits up to 50 people, and will host the Tech workshops. “Jaffa”, the mid-sized, wooden-panelled, sailing-inspired room that seats up to 20 people, will be the base for the Business workshops.

Learn Python for Data Analysis - Katharine Jarmul

New to programming or Python? Wish you had a way to work with data and numbers in an automated way? This workshop will cover Python basics as well as an introduction to Python data analysis tools for charting and data wrangling. You will learn how to import, interact, clean and export data using Pandas, and run simple Python analysis on your datasets.

Getting to grips with Mathematica for data manipulation and machine learning - Dr. Robert Cook

The bespoke nature of many data analysis tasks demand a flexible platform in which code can be rapidly prototyped – leading to a growing interest in functional programing procedures. In this session you will get a hands on start with the Wolfram Language – a multi-discipline symbolic, functional programming language that underpins the power of Wolfram|Alpha, Wolfram System Modeler and Mathematica. Building from the fundamental principles of the language and the powerful pattern-matching engine we will explore various data analysis and machine learning tasks – including the new deep learning Neural Net Framework.
