Experience Newsletter

Dear Data Natives,

In our four years organising the DN conference, we’ve learnt that an excellent event is about so much more than exciting talks and world-class speakers (though admittedly, we do have both of those things in abundance). It’s about the 360 degree experience; giving people the right opportunities to connect and network, unforgettable culinary experiences, and satellite events/parties that end the event with a bang.

As well as bringing you the freshest insights from the spheres of AI, blockchain, big data and more,  we’ve been working flat-out to bring you the best conference experience you could wish for- read on to discover what we’ve got in store for DN attendees!

Staying Hydrated & Keeping It Sustainable

We couldn’t organise the Conference of the Future without doing our part to ensure a green and sustainable future- that’s why we’re aiming for DN18 to be plastic free. That means no plastic cups- we'll be providing reusable, sustainable cups to all attendees. We also encourage everyone to bring their own refillable water bottles; for those who forget, our partners Leogant (who provide solutions to make tap water the same quality as fresh water) will be selling bottles and their free water refill stations throughout the venue.

Aside from free water, we’ll also have free tea in a variety of delicious flavours courtesy of  organic & eco-conscious Teas & Trees, and free filter coffee from König Koffein. For those of you with more sophisticated tastes in your caffeinated beverages, König Koffein will also offer a self-pay, barista-led coffee station on site. We’ll also have a selection of delicious soft drinks by Community Cola, Preussenquelle, and OSTMOST available for purchase.

Raising the Roof & Getting Down

Speaking of free drinks: there's free beer for all at our afterparty, thanks to Quartiermeister, the social enterprise brewery whose profits go towards funding projects in the local community.

As if free booze wasn't enough to get you stick around, we’ll also have a phenomenal selection of DJs and live acts to soundtrack your evening. We'll be joined by Nova Bruise, who lives to "compile, select, edit, mix, compose and process anything that has to do with sound". Next up, Andrea Rosen will be joining us from Tel Aviv, spinning everything from dancehall classics to Middle Eastern floor fillers. We'll also have a live set from Private Agenda, bringing the Balearic and disco vibes, fresh off the release of their new EP, "AFFECTION".

You know what they say: there ain’t no party like a data party ‘cos a data party don’t stop until we all feel thoroughly informed about our data-driven future. If you want in, make sure to register below (it's free!).

PARTY TIME

Feeling Hungry?

We’ve partnered with Caterwings to bring you delectable delicacies on site at DN18. We’re excited to be joined by Berlin food truck legends Schnitzel Truck (pictured above) and GNAM Pasta on site, who will be feeding all of the hungry data experts at DN18. The best news of all: every attendee gets a food truck meal for free!

Snack-wise: Schiller Deli (yes, the guys behind Schiller Bäckerei and Schiller Burger) will be running a self-pay Mobile Bakery around the site. Keep an eye out for them!

Getting It Done: On-Site Co-Working

We know that many of you can’t justify spending two whole days in conference mode without tackling your work projects and staying on top of your emails. That’s why we’ve partnered with Mindspace to bring you an on-site co-working space, so you can maximise your productivity between our captivating talks. Also, there will be free and robust Wifi available to all attendees.

Mindspace are also graciously hosting our pre-conference Meetup on the 21st November. Join us on Wednesday night for our official conference warm-up with IBM’s Romeo Kienzler and VentureBeat’s Stewart Rogers. As always with our Meetups: pizza and beer are on us!
