Mari Hermanns

Head of Business Intelligence, solarisBank + Forbes 30 Under 30

In October, I attended the Data Natives conference here in Berlin, where I met Ofer Kulka. We had a successful first meeting at the conference and we were both excited to have the same BI mindset, so we decided to get to know each other better.

And what can I say: It all worked out. In November, Ofer joined me at solarisBank to push our work within the Business Intelligence Department forward. We have accomplished a lot in the past year; we managed to create and develop workflows and processes to structure the company’s most important data, in order to identify potential challenges as well as strategic opportunities.

Sarah Mesitiri

Data Scientist, REMERGE

Data Natives was the first door that opened up opportunities for me to connect with people in data science and start growing my knowledge as well as my network in the field. Furthermore, being present at both of last year’s editions helped me get interviews with companies like myTaxi, Valtech, Erento and Remerge for data scientist jobs. I landed my first data scientist job with Remerge, and started with them in 2018- the image above was taken on my first day of work!

Georgios Pierris
Deloitte, ING Bank

Joining Data Natives’ "Big Data Amsterdam" event might have been one the most influential decisions in my career. In a relaxed environment and among an amazingly sharp audience, the presentation of Deloitte's Analytics & Information Management (AIM) activities particularly caught my attention. I immediately recognized myself as a good fit for their team, and following a rapid hiring cycle, Deloitte became my new home. My Deloitte teammates and I won hackathons, contributed to the fight against cancer with Data Science, and even won international awards within the Deloitte network.

Deloitte helped me demonstrate my skills in the Dutch market, and caught the attention of the electronic trading team of ING Bank- the best bank in the world in 2017, according to Global Finance Magazine. I joined them on June 1st, and have already started working on a list of challenging projects.

Wow.
We are so proud of our awesome Data Natives family, out there striving and thriving. They grow up so fast!
