Carina is a Data Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co KG. She has a strong background in Computer Science and likes to drive innovative ideas and approaches forward. During here PhD at the University of Tübingen she used passive Brain Computer Interfaces to develop adaptive learning environments. Afterwards, Carina worked as a Data Analyst at TRON gGmbH, a cancer research institute, for two years. There she used a variety of machine learning methods to e.g. predict mutations in sequenced blood samples. Carina was used to work with terabyte of data, before she changed the area into pharmaceutical industry two years ago. In here current role she has to handle a more restricted data environment. Building up prediction and scoring models based on small datasets to apply micro segmentation is now her daily business. Her guiding principle: Smart Data instead of Big Data!
