Alistair is an entrepreneur, author, and event organizer. He co-founded Real User Monitoring pioneer Coradiant (sold to BMC in 2011) and has authored four books on technology and business, including the best-selling Lean Analytics, which has been translated into 11 languages and is regarded as the leading book on how to use data to build a better business faster. He’s chaired a number of leading technology conferences, including the Enterprise Cloud Summit, Cloudconnect, the Strata Data ConferenceStartupfest, the FWD50 digital government conference, Bitnorth, and Scaletech.
A sought-after speaker on data science, startup growth, and enterprise innovation, Alistair has spoken on five continents about managing innovation portfolios, applying data to business, and the ethics of emerging technologies such as Big Data and AI. For three years, he has been a visiting executive at Harvard Business School, where he teaches a class on data science and critical thinking. He’s currently working on two projects: Tilt the Windmill, about how large organizations should think about innovation; and Just Evil Enough, about subversive marketing in an attention economy.
